Be a part of the Portland Story Theater experience as we singlehandedly change the world, one story at a time. Come hear true, high-quality stories crafted for people like you, discerning adults who know the real deal when they see it. Come join us for PST's Solo Performance Festival, Singlehandedly, featuring: Sharon Knorr reprises her popular one-woman show, Why Can’t I Marry The Cute Beatle? Lawrence Howard, of Shackleton fame, stitches together a trilogy of personal coming-of-age stories about bullies and brothers and breaking away inThe Adventures of Huckleberry Howard. Monologist Rick Huddle performs Spent, a quirky solo piece about the current economic crisis. Veteran Portland storyteller Will Hornyak splices classic Hungarian myth with personal tales in The Myth of the White Stag: The Hunt for Identity and Place. In Glory Hole-llelujah, improv artist Brad Fortier shares one gay man's travail through the lands of easy anonymous sex to the deeper sea of new-found love. Puppeteer and Storyteller Penny Walter brings us With My Own Two Hands, a montage of characters that weave together life's good, bad, and funny moments. In Burning Feathers, solo performance artist Antonio Sacre blends personal narrative, ancient myth, and modern verse into a blisteringly funny and moving exploration of love and its aftermath. PST Co-Founder Lynne Duddy hosts this amazing event! Try not to miss a moment of the 2009 Solo Performance Festival. There are twelve solo performances over six nights. Each night will be a double feature: a single admission price gets you two full-length shows! Or get a Festival 3-Night Pass. |
