PST regulars Lynne Duddy, Lawrence Howard and Penny Walter will regale you with true, personal tales about their favorite pairs of .... shoes? pants? people? earlobes? pliers? lips? other body parts that come in matching sets? Use your imagination! And joining us for this one -- our favorite improv performers The Tuesday Group!

Back by popular demand! This is the gripping, heart-breaking, true story of British explorer, Ernest Shackleton, and the Trans-Antarctic Expedition of 1914. Shackleton's dream of being the first to cross the Antarctic continent on foot became a nightmare when his valiant ship, the Endurance, was crushed in the pack-ice of the Weddell Sea. The story of how he and the twenty-seven men of the expedition survived on the ice and eventually came to safety is an epic tale of hardship and suffering, of courage, determination and fortitude. Woven with just a touch of personal narrative about Lawrence and his father and the lifelong passion they shared for the Shackleton saga, this is a performance that will move you to the depths of your soul.

In the cartoons, Cupid shoots his arrow and little pink hearts and flowers fly around our heads. But in real life, being smitten with love is more like getting hit with a rock between the eyes! Or, as Jackie Gleason used to say, “Pow! Right in the kisser!” From the agony to the ecstasy and all points in between, Portland Story Theater presents SMITTEN, a collection of true tales about the kind of l ove that sweeps us out into the deep water and way over our heads. PST founders Lynne Duddy and Lawrence Howard will be joined by special guest stars Penny Walter, Michael Philips, Concetta Antonelli and Will Hornyak. There will be something for everyone in this one.

Friday, February 13th at 8 pm
Saturday - that's Valentines - the 14th (two shows 7 and 9 pm)
and a Sunday matinee on the 15th at 3 pm.

Portland Story Theater presents Singlehandedly!, a festival of solo performances. There will be a total of twelve performances. Expect to see some amazing talent, including Rick Huddle, Sharon Knorr, Penny Walter, Will Hornyak, Brad Fortier, and Lawrence Howard, singlehandedly create a world on stage. Tickets on sale in March, 2009!.
