Lynne Duddy -- PST's Solo Performance Festival, Singlehandedly

Lynne Duddy

Storyteller, monologist, narrative artist ... whatever you want to call it, Lynne Duddy tells stories. She's a self-described cross between Laurie Anderson and Linda Barry. Lynne co-founded PST in 2004 to give adults a chance to have a sense of connection through stories. The Oregonian loved her one-woman show, "Dark Matter," and called her "raw, revealing and vulnerable." This is her second time producing Singlehandedly. She is also an ordained minister of the Church of Sexual Healing. In her spare time she is a full-time student at PSU and is learning to speak Spanish. She says "Gracias por venir a nuestro show!"

There's No Place Like Home

"What shapes our sense of self? Our home? The people we know? The stories we tell?"

There's No Place Like Home is a story about that rare breed: the native Oregonian. It's about being adopted by an Irish Catholic family right here in Portland, Oregon. The kind of family that spent the long, rainy winters drinking Hamm's and playing canasta. It's about the search for self, for identity, for family, for home. It's about wanting to belong. It's about being careful what you wish for. It's about finding your own way.
It's all part of PST's Solo Performance Festival, Singlehandedly!
Catch Lynne on Friday May 7th.
