PST Fundraiser October 30, 2009
John Palmer House at Halloween

Fundraiser for PST

Portland Story Theater goes non-profit and this one-night only event on Friday, October 30th, is our first-ever fundraiser! On the night before Halloween, Lynne and Lawrence will be joined by special guests Penny Walter, Sharon Knorr and Will Hornyak for an evening of mostly ghostly stories at the John Palmer House, which some say is haunted... Only fifty tickets will be issued for this very special event; small groups of listeners will rotate through five different rooms of the house until they have heard all the stories. Tickets are general seating and offered on a sliding scale ($25-$50) with a minimum of $25 each. All proceeds will go to help fund PST's 2nd annual solo performance festival in the spring. No one under 15 admitted. Doors open at 7:30. Show at 8. This is going to be a sell out and space is limited. Buy your tickets in advance at Brown Paper Tickets by clicking here to buy online.

2010 Season
We have an exciting new season planned, beginning in January, 2010 when Lawrence Howard will unveil the much-anticipated sequel to Shackleton's Antarctic Nightmare. This next chapter in the Armchair Adventurer Series is Mawson's Mettle;Alone On The Wide Shores Of The World . Mawson led an Australian expedition to the frozen continent in 1911. Out sledging with two other men, Mawson was thrown into peril when one of the sleds -- along with the six best dogs, most of the food and equipment, and one of his companions -- was lost in a deep crevasse. After his second companion and the rest of the dogs died, Mawson struggled against freezing temperatures, 80 mile-per-hour winds, loneliness, grief, illness and starvation, pulling his one remaining sled for hundreds of miles. This is an epic story of survival and courage that will move you to the depths of your soul.
January 22, 23, 29 and 30, 2010.

PST's annual Valentine's Show is always popular with our fans. And why not? Wine, chocolate, and stories of love --- we've got something very special planned for this year --- sneak peek coming soon.

April 23rd, 24th & 30th and May 1st, 7th, 8th, and 14th will bring our Second Solo Performance Festival to the Portland Story Theater stage at Hipbone Studio. The launch of this festival, Singlehandedly, in 2009, was a huge success. We've already started lining up our performancers for 2010! Stay tuned for more information as this exciting event takes shape.
