Urban Tellers

"Urban Tellers" is the free season opener for Portland Story Theater's 2010/11 storytelling season.
Each night features nine storytellers and nine short stories. The stories are personal, taken from the tellers'
own lives and told without scripts or notes. These tellers have gone through Portland Story Theater's personal narrative
workshop series to learn how to discover, develop, craft and deliver their stories. Performing right alongside them are
PST founders, Lynne Duddy and Lawrence Howard. Each night is a different show --- come to both!
PST events promote community and collaboration. Every show includes refreshments, creating a festive atmosphere. When you attend a PST show it's more than a theatrical performance, it is a community experience where you feel like family. And all you have to do to become part of the PST family is come to the show! Storytelling is simple, straightforward, unadorned. No set, no complex lighting plot, no period costumes, no soundtrack -- just the teller and the listeners, connecting. Very interactive. Human. Meaningful. Real.
